...FRUIT HARVESTING SEASON...
22 JANUARY 2012
Picking or harvesting fruits at our very own orchard is always a joy for us...especially for my father in-law. He has planted many exotic fruit trees ~ rambutan, durian, langsat, pakan, embawang, petai, dabai, pulasan, jackfruits, etc. and now, nature's giving back what he has worked hard for.
They went so much earlier in the morning as I was still busy tidying up the kitchen and doing household work (...well, part of my job is being a "full time housewife" during holidays and on weekends...). My youngest tagged along with them to LUBOK KEPAYANG ...and for sure, he brought extra clothes for some diving and swimming activities later on...he would never miss the opportunity to go there.
I went in later in the evening but didn't manage to do the 'harvesting' with them... all was neatly piled up, ready to be picked up by our relatives...

Pakan fruit...
It's almost like durian but less sweet, less thorny, and smaller with orange flesh inside. It doesn't smell as strong as durian too... which makes it a favourite among the elders.

...my mum-in-law complained that life's too quiet at home...
We used to have a pig sty not far from our house but since there's another new housing area being put near it, we were forced to tear the sty down or moved it somewhere else... at that time, we had 2 handsome pigs and my mum-in-law was almost hysterical... so, we had to make plans quickly. I gave her two choices:
1. Move the sty elsewhere...OR...
2. Kill the pigs (....if looks could kill, I was definitely a corpse...)
Well, we managed to move somewhere else....AND... KILL 'EM PIGS..!!! HAHAHAHA....!! (...we sold them for a good price, of course...and we didn't commit any crime)... With the cash stashed in my mum-in-law's pocket (RM600++), she nagged me to call up a teacher-friend, to find out if the teacher has any new born piggies. I didn't exactly do her the service, but I drove her to the farm...and she was totally excited!! Initially, ONE piggy would be fine, she said....but, she bought two of them (both are female)... So, we brought two piggies to the new sty and when my youngest son saw them, he named them...BRUTUS AND POPEYE. My guess, you'll know who is who later.
The new place isn't far from our house but still, she has to walk around the block with her pail full of piggy goodies...at first, she didn't complaint. She said she liked the exercise...but now, it seems her hands are aching from the weight...hmmmm...

ROCK 'N' ROLL
...this is the core of my blog..
Before anything else, under HAPPENINGS are also subheadings for each month of the year... I'm trying to make things 'user friendly' here and easily accessible as I know some people are techno freak outs. Otherwise, HAPPENINGS would just be 'happenings'. With me, I get quickly fed up with normal way of doing things. I love to surprise myself, pushing my limits, taking risks, improvising rules, etc.. Hence, the tatt is one of the many ways of how I keep myself alive...!!
Body art has been in my mind for the past years but I never really dare to enter 'that' world. My mom-in-law has indoctrinated our family that people with tatts are gangsters or outlaws. She almost succeeded in brainwashing me...luckily, my hubby was ever so encouraging as he handsomely ransomed me with RM250 to get a tatt done on my leg...(he has one on his leg too and was heavily punished with all the sinful thoughts of the criminal world by her mum back then...). Actually, he was having another idea of sticking another tatt on his upper arm...and so, the ransom. Reaching home, I got sneered by her... nevertheless, I got praises from friends who knew about my stupefying act.
